Urja Upadhyaya is a San Francisco-based illustrator and creative producer, originally from India. Being a fashion enthusiast and art admirer from an early age.
Urja’s work is characterized by both traditional and contemporary techniques of fashion illustration and design. Being a woman of colour, Urja has a knack for fashion in diverse cultures and she passionately incorporates cultural and gender diversity on the spectrum as well as body positivity in her illustrations. Urja is currently working with film production in the fashion sector while freelancing for various brands. Having won awards as a writer and filmmaker, transitioning to fashion has been the most exciting journey as Urja has been illustrating from the age of five and the only way to live for Urja is to create art.
Creating art has been an integral part of Urja’s life and she believes that for an artist, enjoying the process is important for an artwork to be extravagant and acclaimed. For Urja, learning and honing skills is a continuous process, and she allots time to absorb knowledge from fellow artists in the industry. With design experience in the fashion industry and a penchant to grow as an artistic individual, Urja focuses on collaborating with artists and brands while establishing a glorious revolution in fashion.
